Thank you so much to Kendra Scott Jewelry, and all of their exceptional staff for their kindness and generosity while sponsoring the highly successful fundraiser for the Delivering Cures 4 Cancer. Sara Martin was responsible for putting the event together. We had a great turn out at the Reston, VA store, and raised just under $500 in only 2 hours.
Shoppers came out for a cause to support the DC4C mission, and Kendra Scott donated 20% of the proceeds to help deliver the cure for cancer. It was quite a crowd. Bling-Bling as women custom-designed their rings at the stores Color Bar while enjoying some bubbly & tasty treats. The generosity was awe-inspiring.
One woman couldn’t decide which piece of jewelry she was going to buy, so instead, she bought a gift card to make sure she was able to make a contribution/donation that night to DC4C. The men at the event also made out pretty well-purchasing surprise gifts for their wives and early-bird shopping for Mother’s Day. CEO of DC4C, Janine Shore, was on-site handing out free t-shirts, which were a big hit with the crowd.
One big surprise was when a representative and his training dog for a wounded warrior attended. Everyone clamored around the beautiful black lab service dog. DC4C donated gifts to be presented to the serviceman after his surgery that same evening.
Many different styles of jewelry were purchased, and all attendees left with beautiful treasures that were special and meaningful to them, as everyone shared their stories about how cancer affected them personally.
A highlight of the event was the “I Helped Cure Cancer” signature board that all attendees signed in loving memory of with a special message of their personal story in loving memory of those they have lost to cancer.
Everyone left with a warm fuzzy feeling because of the good they had done. The Kendra Scott Jewelry event was fabulous and fun and, most importantly, truly a display of the beauty we all embody and how we each give to help others live.
